Welcome to the Department of Education and Science Energy in Schools website. This website will allow schools to stay updated with regards to energy efficiency opportunities in schools and to help you to reduce your energy consumption.

On the left you will find links to the new Energy Efficiency Scheme 2009 for upgrading attic and cavity wall insulation as well as the Display Energy Certificate website. There is also a link to recent publications from the Department of Education and Science that may be of interest.

The documentation pertaining to the Energy Efficiency Scheme 2009 can be downloaded from the Energy Efficiency Scheme 2009 Documentation page. Please view these documents before you input your application online. Please note that this scheme closes for application at midnight on Friday Nov 6th 2009.

The Display Energy Certificate (DEC) Website provides schools with a free method of certifying the energy rating of their school in order to comply with the EPBD legislation. More information on this can be found within the website itself. A download of the input data required by this website and directions regarding how to obtain this information can be downloaded on page 1 of the DEC Input section.
